Privacy policy
Last updated 25 October 2026
Segvo applies to jobs for you from your own computer. It is run by Fredrik Collyer, a sole trader based in South Australia (“Segvo”, “we”, “us”). We’re responsible for the personal information described here. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. Questions go to support@segvo.com.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address, and the sign-in codes we send to it.
- Your devices: each Mac you sign in on: its name, model, macOS and Segvo version, and an identifier for that Mac, made from a one-way hash of its hardware ID so reinstalling Segvo doesn’t add it twice.
- Your job search: your résumé and the details Segvo reads from it (such as your name, contact details, work history and skills), the roles, salary and places you want, companies you’ve ruled out, the job sites, browser and email you use, and your answers to application questions.
- Your applications: each job Segvo finds or applies to: the company, role, link and site, what was sent, its status, and the replies Segvo finds in your inbox about it.
- Run activity: the steps Segvo took during each run and their results, so you can see what it did on each of your devices.
- Usage and billing: how much AI work each request used, what it cost, which AI provider served it, and your subscription status.
- Product events: milestones such as downloading the app or finishing a first run.
- Network information: your IP address, kept only as a one-way hash, to prevent abuse such as repeated sign-in attempts.
- Website visits: the pages you view on segvo.com, how long you spend on them, which site or campaign brought you, your approximate location (country, region and city) and your type of device and browser. Your browser keeps a random identifier for this in its local storage; we don’t use cookies for it. When you sign in on the website, that identifier is linked to your account.
- Download links: the email address you give when you ask us to email you the download link.
What Segvo sees on your computer
Segvo applies to jobs using the Accessibility and Screen Recording access you give it in System Settings. While a run is going, it reads what is on screen in the browser and email windows it works in, and the résumé file you chose, and sends them to an AI model to decide the next step. To check for replies it reads the emails in your inbox that look related to your applications. It doesn’t watch your screen when no run is going. You can remove its access in System Settings at any time.
How we use it
- To run Segvo: finding jobs, filling in and sending applications for you, tracking their replies, syncing your job search across your devices, and managing your account and subscription.
- To keep Segvo secure and reliable, and to prevent fraud and misuse.
- To understand how Segvo is used and to improve it, including developing, testing and training our features and models. Where we can, we use de-identified or aggregated data for this.
- To contact you about your account and Segvo, such as sign-in codes, service notices and product updates. You can opt out of product updates at any time.
- To meet our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and improving Segvo, your consent where we ask for it, and our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
- Cloudflare hosts Segvo’s servers, stores your account and history, sends our emails, and turns voice input into text.
- OpenRouter and the AI providers it routes to (currently OpenAI, Together AI, Relace, DeepInfra and Fireworks) run the AI models. We currently use providers that don’t train their own models on your requests.
- Employers and job sites: when Segvo applies for you, your application (such as your résumé, contact details and answers) goes to the employer and to the job site or hiring system you apply through, as it would if you applied yourself. Their own privacy policies then apply.
- Polar is our merchant of record: it takes payments, handles tax and sends receipts. Your card details go to Polar and its payment processor, never to us.
- Professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it.
- A buyer or successor if Segvo’s business is reorganised, incorporated, sold or merged, under the same protections.
We never sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
How long we keep it
- Your job search, applications and run activity: until you delete them or your account.
- Sign-in codes: 2 days. Operational logs: 30 days. Security audit records: 2 years.
- Individual website events: 13 months. Deleting your account removes the link between your account and your website visits.
- Segvo version history for each Mac: 13 months, or until you delete your account.
- Billing records: as long as tax law requires.
- Usage statistics, such as when an account signed up, paid or cancelled, and daily AI cost and run outcomes: kept under a random identifier, without your email, requests or results. Deleting your account permanently removes the link to you.
Your choices and rights
On your account page you can export your data or delete your account. Deleting it removes your job search, applications, run activity and devices and cancels your subscription. It can’t recall applications already sent to employers. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, or to object to some uses. Email support@segvo.com and we’ll help. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where your data is processed
Our providers process data in several countries, including Australia and the United States. Where the law requires, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, such as encryption in transit and hashed sign-in codes. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Children
Segvo is for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as Segvo grows. If a change matters, we’ll let you know by email or in the app before it applies.
